The Norse Vikings were already travelling from Norway and Iceland into Europe and the Mediterranean for hundreds of years by the time of the Crusades. Ironically, the Frankish crusaders who lead the Crusades and were the Kings of Jerusalem eventually signed a treaty with the Vikings and created the Norman kingdom who lead by William the Conqueror defeated the Anglo-Saxons in 1066. Known for building the amazing Gothic Cathedrals throughout Europe cathedrals, the Normans combined fierce Viking fighting skills with strong administrative systems learnt from Charlemagne the Great the famous Frankish King and so-called father of Europe which ultimately helped combine Germanic, Latin and French with English and ultimately helping modern English to become the lingua franca of the modern world. George Washington had Norman heritage and this heritage ultimately led to the creation of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. The Europeans were quite big on protecting people's rights as illustrated by the development of the Magna Carta and the Declaration of Arbroath. The Scottish, Irish and Welsh Kingdoms were also largely colonised by the Tuatha de Daanan who were of Phoenician heritage and who, again were among the most skilled sailors in the world without any supposed Morrish help. In actual fact the Phoenicians traded through Northern Africa and all the way through the Mediterranean from the Levant right up into Western and Northern Europe. The Greek alphabet, the first in the modern world was also developed by the Phoenicians and their Greek trading partners and led to the development of the majority of the Indo-European language family again by far and away the largest language group in the world. Not saying the Moors didn't contribute anything to European civilisation but don't get ahead of yourself.
