I understand like not letting guests not having certain foods or drinks like let’s say not pop for example. But can have the juice or water or whatever else but they shouldn’t be disrespecting abt it. I know I’ll never be like that when I’m a parent. I’ll be “these are off limits but everything else is fine. Thirsty? Go get something to drink. Hungry? Go find whatever you want”

The sad part is a lot of families are like this. I remember being like 11 at my friends house and her mom was EXACTLY like this, hid all their valuables an just made me feel like a scuff mark on the bottom of her shoe for even breathing the same air as her. She wouldn’t even let me use her phone to call my mom to pick me up because “she doesn’t know where my dirty hands have been” so I used my friends phone. The sad part is her daughter was really sweet and we were best friends. But I never went over to their house again. I always wonder where my old friend is now, and if she’s still really kind despite her mother being a holy terror
