I broke a bone in my foot and had a pin put in Jan of 24. I was off all if Jan and most of February. non weight bearing i couldn't get out of my house and in the building with my knee scooter. oh darn 7 weeks off. also avoided ice and snow.

did my knee in 2023, and a hysterectomy in 2025. lost the gallbladder 20 years ago. I have at least another 20 year before I can retire. at this rate, I'll run out of body parts first.

Went to the ER with bad chest pain in November of '24. When they told me that they were keeping me over night my first thought was, "Woo hoo! No school tomorrow!!!" I'd had a heart attack.

I also had to takeoff one year a couple of days because my husband had surgery. I didn’t get any painkillers out of that, but I do have to admit I was genuinely not unhappy to have to be the certified adult taking him to and from.

I needed to have spinal fusion surgery. I would be out for 12 weeks. My doctor said, "you're a teacher, you probably want to have the surgery in the summer." I laughed, told him I had 183 sick days and was retiring in 3 years.

I have 160 sick days banked I swear one of these days I’m gonna fall down the stairs… spraying something just bad enough to stay home for a couple weeks with some good painkillers and a few good books
