@yuanunpackschina: Today in Rio de Janeiro, I met friends who are genuinely curious about China. It was a great conversation — open, thoughtful, and grounded in reality. To me, China is a normal country. It shouldn’t be viewed through a purely ideological lens. Most Chinese people are highly pragmatic — they don’t trap themselves in rigid ideologies, and they focus on what actually works. At a technological level, China is already among the world’s leaders. Where it still has a long way to go is soft power — storytelling, communication, and global understanding. And that’s exactly where international talent has real opportunities to succeed in China. I’m also trying to play my part — as a new-generation Chinese entrepreneur who communicates more directly with the world. Starting this spring, I’ll be teaching a course on International Communication Practice at Shanghai International Studies University, hoping to help more young Chinese engage with the world more confidently and clearly. I truly believe that studying at China’s top universities will become an increasingly smart choice. And I hope to see more international talents succeed in China — because that’s how real understanding is built.
