Sometimes a little more expensive is worth it if I can get it today. Ain’t no next day delivery for Amazon in rural Alberta. But ya I’ve found a lot of 100-200% markup comparing local to Amazon and it gets really hard to be sympathetic to ‘support local’ when they r pulling crap like that.

I needed a wiper arm my semi went to the local parts place they wanted 396 dollars went on Amazon got the same thing for 32 dollars.

Always buy Amazon, then go ask the small businesses for donations to the local 4-H clubs and sports teams.

it pays me to stock items myself now. I order wholesale and online now. it's nice to have the local guy when you need something odd or RIGHT now.. but for how often that happens to me... I'd be OK with the inconvenience from time to time. I love local but... economy is F'ed

Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to ask if they could do better to compete. I run the local farm supply store in rural Sask and I try to be as competitively priced as I can. But I’d rather get asked if I can match a price then someone not giving me the chance. In the end when local stores and businesses are gone Amazon isn’t going to start sending checks to the local 4-H club or door prizes to a rink fundraiser, then what?

I just did a power steering pump on one of my pickups, $730 wholesale from dodge, $550 though two of my local suppliers, or $130 delivered the next day to my door from Amazon..... 🤷

Less about the price and more about, I can wait two days and not spend 30-40 minutes driving across town. Or I need it right now and I’ll spend the hour to get it instead of waiting two days

I buy probably 90% or more in store. Online supports bigger corporations and doesn’t help the small guys. I’d rather support the small guys cause those are the guys that will support me

Went to the local trailer place twice this week to order parts door was open but no once showed up for me to pay, put stuff back on the shelves and went to amazon. Maybe they’ll see me on camera
