Also when communicating between Android and iOS, we’re using RCS and not SMS. So there’s literally no difference in quality and it’s virtually the same as iMessage and WhatsApp.

You're the one who explained it best. I'm Colombian, and it's the same situation here. We started using WhatsApp because it was free, and by the time text messages became free, we were already used to using WhatsApp.

I don't know if iPhone is still the US standard but the issue with iPhone and androids is actually an intentional iPhone design. It's not present for the android users. There are lawsuits about it. It's part of the apple cult, trying to convince users that it's a superior product without actually being innovative or better. It's, in fact, worse.
