He seems right with regards to the law, I just don’t understand why this country has the probable cause rules. Most countries the police have the right to pull you over and identify you when you are driving a motor vehicle, or even walking down the street and they have none of these issues. Also, why don’t they have a data base where they can check registration, rather than people having to carry paperwork?

shouldn't have asked "am I being detained?" instead he should ask "Are liberties or rights being restricted?". then if they say in any wording that he can't go like your detained then it's constitutional rights being violated. but trying to get that to stand in court is unlikely. we just witnessed a man being imprisoned with out due process.
