This is why I usually suggest an iPhone for older people and those who struggle with technology. Less chance of users downloading something that destroys their phone. Not androids fault but with more user freedom comes more user error.

scammers like to prey on the elderly, bible apps, cleaning apps, medical tracking apps everything are 90% all scamming apps, I see it DAILY and it's ridiculous, they'll put an X to close it, but it'll be so small and blend it that the person thinks they HAVE to install it in order to continue and then the problem starts, one after another, some apps will even install other apps in the background

as long as you do your research and you know it's safe, you can install whatever you want, it doesn't have to be just official apps. Some homescreen reorganizers are safe, you just have to look it up first. I use nova launcher bc I prefer that over the launcher that comes with my Samsung phone.

samsung /android isn't really for older people. APPLE is much safer for people who arent phone / tech savvy, Apple is safe for beginners, i love Samsung tho because I can customize it however I want 🥰

I had a customer come to me the other day, she had 329 apps in her 1tb iphone 16pm I made a program that let's me click all the apps I want to delete that works currently for apple and Samsung (soon Google once I figure out the infrastructure bc it's been acting weird every time I try using it but it works fine with Samsung idk coding is hard lol) still took about 9 hours for it to clear it and they tipped me 120 bucks ontop of the 30 I charged. I was surprised it was on an iPhone bc like you said it is normally Samsung if I didn't have my program itd have taken SOOOO long and if probably have told them I can't spend the time on that.
