biggest changes to PM job market in 2026 versus 2025, and how it changes my job search strategy. all based on my personal experience and convos with friends who are senior PMs and principal PMs. here’s some additional context I didn’t mention in the video ⚠️please note that there may be exceptions — for example, if you’re applying to a specific “program,” like an internship program or new-grad program or apprenticeship program, you’ll likely start with a general round. so this is more relevant to industry hires. if the 1st interview at that company is with a hiring manager, domain experience matters most. what this means for you: if you have that domain expertise, you’re immediately more qualified than someone else who may come from a more “impressive” background and someone who is better at case interviews in contrast, if the 1st interview at that company is a general case interview, that means you won’t get a chance to show your domain experience until much later in the process — after the standardized case interview rounds, and during team matching. you have to study specifically for the case interview: example 1: product sense case interview where you answer “how would you design a clock for a blind person” example 2: analytical thinking / metrics case interview where you answer “metric A went down — debug the drop” domain experience is assessed after you pass all the general rounds and move onto team matching. interview strategy, meta product manager, meta rotational product manager program, Google associate product manager program, Microsoft product manager, Apple product manager, Amazon product manager, FAANG interview prep resources, product sense interview, 2026 job search tips, cracking the pm interview, principal product manager, senior product manager, product manager job market
