I might have decades of lawn and garden experience, I get paid as a lawn and garden consulting, worked in different levels of fertiliser, soil improvement and generally making great soil and plants. I'm happy to help but after many years of comments in lawn groups it's not the best environment for learning. It starts with questions. Where are you? Aspect, soil, wind, microclimate conditions etc. Goals for the lawn as well as the whole garden and home?

I'm in WA and finally got our dead lawn looking amazing. I mowed as low as possible, raked out as much of the dead stuff as possible, aerated, spread sheep manure and lawn seeds. I started with fertiliser and wetting agents from bunnings but honestly they were pretty shit. Check out TheLawnHub, can only get online for delivery in WA but they are pretty decently priced for the quality and the products actually work. Our lawn has never looked better and it came up super quickly! I watered for an hour about 3 times a week around 5pm when the lawn was in mostly shade.

Cut it as low as you can with the mower, get it aerated, top dress it with with washed sand, fertilise and then smash it with water

Lay off the fertilizer, seasol is ok , once the grass is healthy and growing then fertilize. Water water water and good quality top soil not too thick .

I did just commercial on another page… head to supasoils in secret harbour and get top dressing. Keep using seasol like every day. If you want retic installed or looked at.. pumps n pipes in Mandurah. Just keep doing what your doing

rake up dead grass, urea and/or weed n feed. tap timers if u can't be there all the time, hr long watering. the rotating sprinklers with the spike are AWESOME bunnings (make sure you tighten the screw all the way in tho) mow regularly so grass grows out, not up. water like everyday or second day

Looks dormant to me, tug on some dead grass if it comes out really easily you’ll need to sew seeds. If not it’s just scalped/shocked. It’ll take a week or 2 for it to start coming back with regular watering but may take several weeks before it’s really back

From NZ, our land was mostly sand and dirt with a high water table and still looked like this. Had pockets of green on a good wet day. People told us to not mow too low because ... I can't remember. But somehow that worked for over all new growth.

I just leave my soaker hose going and just move it around i dont turn it of until it needs mowing im lucky enough to use dam water so dont cost us

Ok. Plan of attack. Mowing low low. (Almost scalping the lawn) get all grass clippings off lawn. You’re going to either hire a corer for a few hours(Kennards) or get a pitch fork and kick in deep as possible and create circles for water to get down. You’re going to also get the long soaker hoses. Put it on for 1-2 hours. Twice a day. If you can’t do that long in the morning. Put on for as long as possible or… get a timer for the tap. EVERYDAY. 😅 you’ll see new shoots in 1.5-2.5 weeks.

Get a garden fork and airate it, fertilise with a grass specific fertiliser and water daily at dusk. When you mow, don’t use your catcher and leave the clippings on the lawn - it mulches down and fertilises itself/improves the earth quality underneath.

Exact same answer as last week when I commented. It’s a living thing it needs food and water. 1 week isn’t enough. Think of your lawn as being in critical condition. Liquid fertiliser first, prill a week later, then every 2 weeks liquid fertiliser and iron. Water twice a week and keep mowing it. Give it 4 weeks and let us know.

Aerate the soil a bit and put some soil wetter down. That will make the soil absorb and hold more water leading to greener turf!

its hard to tell is the grass in the middle got alittle bit of green or sign of life at all but top dressing will help with some manure and maybe chuck some grass seed in with it just to help it regrow

Spray some lawn beetle and grub killer. That’s all I know about lawns it helped me fix grass that would not live and watering and ferts didn’t help
