been phasing out analog with iolink. more cost effective, no need for expensive analog cards. noise immune. simple cabling reduces wiring. More precise data and control. very versatile and easy to implement.

we use that on lvdts we just had one that was at 0 some how and blew the motor off the back of the press. 😅

4-20 gives failures on both sides vs 0-10v or 0-5v(automobiles)

Back in the day of single loop controllers all around the plant , most of ours used “pv in” of 1 to 5 vdc. To make it work with the 4 to 20ma transmitter we would run the 4-20 thru a 250 ohm resistor on the pv input terminals of the controller to handle the conversion. Haven’t seen that setup in many years. Guess I’m getting too old
