@kavodhashem: One of the biggest problems in Nigeria and across Africa is not talent or ambition. It’s access to timely information. By the time a new idea, technology, or economic shift reaches us, people elsewhere have already understood it, acted on it, and extracted most of the value. We arrive late not because we are incapable, but because access arrives late. You can see this pattern in payments, in Web3, and now in InfoFi. Early exposure compounds. Delayed exposure limits innovation and forces people into reacting instead of building. The issue isn’t that information isn’t public. It’s that discovery is broken. Today, social platforms decide what people see through opaque algorithms. Visibility is driven by volume, engagement tactics, and paid reach, not by relevance or insight. Entire regions can be structurally underexposed to ideas that are shaping the future. This is one of the problems we’re thinking deeply about at @Candoxa. One component we’re building within the Candoxa ecosystem is a Discovery Layer: a niche discovery network where visibility is earned through curation quality, not noise. It works across platforms and is designed to surface high-signal ideas early, not after they trend. If innovation is going to accelerate here, access to information cannot depend on algorithms optimized for attention extraction. It needs systems that reward early insight, meaningful participation, and long-term contribution. Curious how others think about this. What do you believe is the biggest blocker to innovation where you live?
