Learn how to replace your differential fluid in your car, suv, or truck. In this case we are working on my pickup truck but the process is similar on most vehicles with a solid rear end. 1. You ALWAYS want to make sure you can remove the fill bolt first because if you empty the diff and then you cannot fill it, you have a problem. 2. Then remove all of the bolts holding the diff cover on except you want to always keep the top bolt screwed in a little so you can control the gear oil coming out and not have the cover just fall off an make a mess. 3. Clean the bolts off and add medium strength threadlocker and also clean the gasket material off. 4. Add new RTV and put a thin bead. Too thick and it will squish out into the diff. 5. Tighten all the bolts to spec and fill with the diff fluid recommended in the owners manual for your car.
