When Kaguya heard Iroha sing, she went back to Earth but then went back 8,000 years in the past. She created history to make Yachiyo for Iroha in the Virtual World for 8,000 years. There we meet Iroha in the present whereas she stans Yachiyo(Kaguya's personification). When Iroha met Yachiyo, Yachiyo(Kaguya) saw her loved one once again. The moment Kaguya went back to the moon, she heard Iroha sing again, and the cycle kept on going. The reason why Yachiyo's debut song has the same melodic core as Iroha's unfinished song is because when Kaguya made Yachiyo, her debut song was inspired of Iroha's unfinished song(the one she sang that made Kaguya went back to Earth). So basically the movie is a cycle, it is the past, the present, and the future, but at the same time, each loop are in different timelines. For example, at the end of the movie when Irohas made a physical body for Kaguya, that Kaguya is concious but the one who went back to the moon already traversed back to Earth but sent down to the past instead. She doesn't know she technically "exist" there in the "present" where she was recreated. It is a time loop paradox but Iroha's action might've broken that cycle, yet made a 2 people personality paradox. Everything is complex especially if you think about it sm tbh. (Bittersweet Ending)
