Plot twist but it used to be required to be a US citizen to be a police officer in CA. Makes sense only a citizen should be arresting or detaining another citizen (4th, 5th, 6th Amendments protections at stake) but good ol Gavin Gruesome and his legislative gestapo have removed that requirement. Meaning, you guessed it an illegal immigrant could in fact gain employment and arrest you. Looks like other lost states have done similar.
