I hate this argument. If all these women had great performances, why are we feeling the need to fill the nominations with diverse voices simply to check a box. If they deserve it, they get nominated. Period.

I’m over this conversation. The Oscars aren’t participation trophies for starring in a movie. As a poc, I want to see poc get recognition for roles that deserve it. We’re not cutting one deserving actress just to add a black or brown one so it doesn’t “look bad”. All of these actresses are very deserving, except Kate Hudson. I’m baffled by how her performance is Oscar worthy. It should be Amanda Seyfried in her place.
