We need more farming land so we could have food security in Canada and within our communities.

Someone needs to talk with Mark Carney about this. He seems very reasonable.

Yes. But people want to live where the weather is nice. I’m on the side of the farmer.

There’s no young farmers anymore because it’s impossible to get into. It’s not farming anymore, it’s corporations running the farms for the most part. I do agree we need to stop developing prime farmland.

We know it’s not the growers jacking the price. It’s retailers

Perpetual suburban sprawl will be the death of us all. Cities should be built up and confined to allow farms and forests to prosper

This is what I can’t understand, Why we aren’t focusing on food production? We could be huge distributors of food to the world. It’s not just no good farm land. The land is overpriced. the licenses for whatever your farming is ridiculous. The corporations you have to sell to, gotta follow their outrageous guidelines. The equipment is costly… I could keep going. This government is outta touch, we could be huge suppliers of food to the world, but there’s no real incentive to be a farmer for the amount of work required and also, school curriculums never encouraged kids to go into agriculture so no one wants to do the “hard work”.
