if you're going to keep it in the bank at least put it into a high-yield savings or a CD

I actually had an over spending issue when I was younger. That I am regretting and paying for heavily now. So it has driven me into a scarcity mindset.

“Do now” what other won’t so you can “do later “ what others can’t.

What do you guys think about an Acorns account? I feel it’s liquid, no? And it invests in index funds, but can be withdrawn whenever… I think? I dunno

I never considered that my scarcity mindset came from my upbringing. 😏 I get overwhelmed when I start researching...

A child of refugees here. I didn’t even know we had a heater. We just wore layers of clothes while in the house during the winter.

I just retired. How much should I have in a HYSA to cover my expenses and any downturns in the market?

He should have just kept like $5-10k in there and parked the rest in something like SGOV for guaranteed safety and some inflation protection.

As a financial advisor, I will spend 1-2 meetings just gathering qualitative info on clients so I can understand the context and history around who they are today as it pertains to money. It’s so important and helps me advise them much better than the average advisor and more suitably

I have family like that too. It’s really hard for them to break out of that mindset when they grew up with scarce resources. Unfortunately it’s hurting their gains both financially and from a quality of life.

This has been me for the longest time and I still struggle to shake it. I have a few thousand in investing which I feel great about, but I’m always worried about the worst case scenario so I end up storing it in my checking/savings instead. Trying my hardest to shake that worrisome feeling.
