I had a 2011 Prius, battery last 14 years. After 362000 miles. Replaced with an aftermarket one with a 2 year warranty for 1200 dollars

I was concerned about the battery but NOW I’m concerned about techs not knowing how to repair hybrid cars! 😳 When I buy a car, hopefully soon, I’ll get a non-hybrid/turbo V6.

Toyota Auris HSD 2010 1.8 hybrid. bought new. hybrid battery failed at 107.000 km, 6 years. 4.000 euro to replace because Toyota doesn't repair it. Inverter failed at 12 years, approximately 175.000 km. 2500 euro to replace. the new replaced hybrid battery failed also at 213.000 km (lasted 106k km). 2,5k euro to replace. replace of oil every 3-6.000 km. radiator leaking. engine issues started after 9th year. total crap. never again

hybrids charge and discharge in every small distance using a charge circle of their lifespan,of course they will fail after some years , also what happens with petrol consumption when their battery capacity is let's say at 75%?

Toyota and Lexus are at the top of the game, inbuilt reliability guaranteed … ive been in the trade my whole life, last 26 years on a premium brand (will not name them) and I can tell you there’s a years worth of work sitting in the car park, with hv batteries and system failures, and in some cases it cheaper to by the car back then repair them
