Yes! And for those starting their consulting journey and are thinking about their rate: you are not charging for services by the hour, look at it as charging by your experience. If you make $40/hr in your current role you better not charge a $40/$50 rate!! Your expertise is worth way more than what your employer pays you. You are exploited at work. Remember that. They would pay an agency 2-3X your salary to do your job. Charge accordingly!

Companies hire consultants that typically held senior level and director/management roles and years of experience. The experience is used to justify your high billing. Nobody is going to hire a consultant with no experience in mid to upper management positions.
