@doctorwolfe.dvm: Would you feed this hairy cow ear to your dog 🤔 Here’s the thing we have to remember, because I hear a lot of things like “well what would a dog eat in the wild?” - store bought meat is NOT the same as fresh prey. It sits for days or weeks before being sold and can have bacterial contamination, viruses etc because it is assumed that we are going to cook it before consumption. And dogs are not immune to these illnesses! So please - if you want to feed a raw diet, just choose from a reputable brand that puts their products through a kill step. Or better yet, feed them a gently cooked diet. It’s a simple way to help protect your pet ❤️ #dogfood #rawfeeding #rawfeddog #dognutrition #homemadedogfood
it unfortunately doesn't seem to be common knowledge that grocery store ground meat notoriously contains far too many pathogens to safety consume raw

A lot of people keep forgetting that domestic dogs are not wild they can't eat raw meat like the wild dogs can their stomachs have changed because they have been domesticated that means they'll get sick from Raw meat like we can. Due to them being domesticated dogs can have some what the same foods we can such as cooked meats some fruits some vegetables. Very little grains dogs should not really have any grains at all but we can Raw meat is not one of them if humans can't eat it your dog can't eat it. So do keep in mind there are some foods that humans can eat that dog's should not or can't like garlic Onions or plants from the nightshade family Coffee grapes or other things that dogs cannot eat please go to your vet get a list of all the things a dog can and can't eat this should really help you out I think this should be mandatory for any animal giving them a full list of dietary food that your animals can eat dogs are omnivores But a food list would be great

Everyone spews the “oh well, that’s how animals ate back in the day” and it’s just a propagandized lie. Domesticated dogs were not eating mostly meat diets in the 1800s when humans themselves were not eating that way. Our ancestors were not wasting precious cow meat on the mutt.

What about dogs in the wild? They eat raw meat. Their stomachs are designed to digest those illnesses.

We feed our dogs raw but we dont use grocery store meats. My dad carefully inspects everything to make sure its both human and dog grade. (We USED to feex raw mb and im to lazy to change the first part- basically the dog we fed raw passed the rainbow bridge at 16 :( ) but basically he wouldn’t eat kibble, raw food or cooked meats. Only raw and gently cooked. We never knew why but my guess is texture or it hurt his stomach (and we tried almost every type of kibble or vet recommended. The one he DID eat got him extremely sick.) not saying raw food is good, im saying feed what works best for your pet. And also- do tons of research for both kibble and raw food. As wel as do the proper procedures to make sure no parasites are in the meat. Although in general? I prefer kibble its usually already balanced

Really? honestly, we had 1 older dog whos partly blind(clouded eyes) and had skin problems. we started feeding her raw food, like chicken, with veggies, and organs and her skin, coat, and eyes gotten so much better than when we fed her good kibble

We buy K9 Cravings which is an AFFCO approved food. It’s a great product and my senior dogs have done exceptionally well on it compared to other food. This is what works for my dogs. I have another dog that only eats Purina.
