Mostly don’t swim in them, showering should have clean water and it fine as long as you don’t let the trapped water sit on your eye.

I’ve showered with contacts on for 12 years and just hearing about this on tiktok. I’ve also slept with them in by accident sooo many times it’s unreal, and probably swam with them a couple times. I use daily’s though and I’m wondering how much the risk decreases between monthly/weekly contacts and daily’s.

Did EVERY SINGLE THING they tell you not to do for like 4 years in a row. I’m so lucky nothing happened except dry eyes all the time now. I rarely wear them now but if I do I follow all the rules 😅 please don’t be dumb like me

Hi! I’m a swimmer who has practice everyday, but I have extremely bad eyesight so i’ve been wearing my contacts swimming (with goggles ofc) everyday for the last like 3 years, I also shower with them in. Is that okay??

I work at an eye doctor and wear contacts, as long as they weren’t sitting in your eyes for like hours after (which you said they weren’t) then its no more dangerous than just getting tap water in your eyes without them! So you’re good girl!

I genuinely have worn contacts for almost 10 years, used to take them out maybe once a month, would swim, shower, wnd rinse my case out with tap water and I somehow am fine. I don’t do these things anymore but just for reassurance you’re so fine I swear

You’ll be fine bc ur eye will be able to fight it the issue is the contact absorbing them and then they are there for days and days since most contact showerers don’t take them out daily

girl I’ve had the same contacts in for more than 3 weeks and haven’t taken them out once cause I forgot to😭. I’ve slept, showered, washed my face with them in. you will be fine, my vision is perfectly fine and healthy💕

it’s only if you keep them in because it traps the bacteria under and restricts oxygen which lets it thrive. if you take them out your body can fight it just don’t wear them for a few days
