I buy my remotes from AliExpress with a chip, board and battery already inside for about $10 each. I get the keys cut at the cheapest place I can get a car key cut. Once the buttons on the remotes wear down, stop working or pop out I take the circuit board with the chip on it and the old key blade out of the worn down one and transfer both to a new remote that hasn't been used. I save myself having to cut a new key or having to reprogram the new remotes. Not that programming remotes for Chevy"s costs any money..
