@the.worried.wanderer: Rating Colorado ski resorts based on how beginner/intermediate friendly they are! Eldora is a great local mountain! It’s pretty small so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone who’s visiting just to ski (check out some of the bigger resorts for that), but it’s a great place to go if you live in Boulder or the surrounding areas! It can also get very crowded, so try to go mid-week. ❄️ E L D O R A ❄️ My rating: 5/10 👍 Pros: - Wide open greens and blue runs on most of the mountain - Not too crowded on the weekdays - Great designated beginners area - Laid-back vibe - Only 45 mins from Boulder - Lots of blue runs seem more like “advanced greens” to me 👎 Cons - Very small - Can get REALLY crowded on the weekends - Can get very windy (ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE FORECAST BEFORE GOING TO ELDORA!) 💨 - Doesn’t always have the best snow. Can get a bit icy - No gondola - No real “ski town” vibe My favorite runs: 💚 Bunnyfair 💙 Upper Bunnyfair 💙 Hornblower 💙 International 💙 Around the Horn Overall, I think Eldora is a great place to learn how to ski or to continue practicing! Especially if you live in the Boulder area. Just try to go on a weekday if you can! ⛷️
