@shiloh_mm: Dealing with tantrums in public and how I like to handle them! I’ve gotten in the habit of discussing my expectations before we ever get out of the car and I think it really helps set the tone from the beginning. The other part of this is, my expectations don’t start in the car. My husband and my expectations start at home and are consistently repeated all day, everyday. We don’t have perfect kids and we are certainly not perfect parents but we are striving for progress and not perfection. And we are working on setting our kids up for success later on in life🤍
You’re a true superwoman going with 3 under 3! I hope you reward yourself after every successful errand out.

Reinforcement 👏 👏 👏 if they scream/cry because they want something and you give in to get them to stop, guess what happens..the cycle continues. Praise/reward the good behavior they show. Toddlers LOVE praise, they eat that shit up and a little bit of praise goes a long way. Great advice, keep sharing!

I have always done this with my kids and honestly still do, whenever we go anywhere. They are 8 and 12 now and I know they do know better by now but I personally still believe it makes the biggest difference. Kids need to know what you expect from them. ❤️

How do you handle going places alone with your 3 littles? Do you depend on a double stroller to contain the youngest two? I have two toddlers and my youngest likes to run away but hates the stroller. I’ve been stumped on how to take them anywhere. 😅

Yes!! My kids are 7 and 8 and I still find myself giving them a warning of what we’re about to do or experience. It helps them to know what to expect which means they can focus on their behavior.

When do you think that they are old enough to understand? I have a 16 month old daughter and the tantrums are so hard 😭

Your tantrum video has helped me so much already. I started it today and yes they still had tantrums. BUT I felt so good knowing I didn’t lose my cool the entire time and I just spoke to them instead of yell. 😭😭😭❤❤❤

Love this. Explicitly stating expectations before everything and anything is best case scenario!!! From, a former first grade teacher of almost 10 years 💕

Yes my oldest are 7 and I’ve realized that they have figured out I don’t always follow through on what I say and it has really backfired unfortunately so I’ve been working on this myself - and not making that mistake with my 2.5 year old!

I think I need to do this with my 14 year old every morning. Expectations are set for the day. No negotiating
