After watching this video, you'll understand how the beef between LAJ and Kao Denero really started. Back in 2009, #LAJ blew up across the country with his hit song "Money Na Bank." At the time, his biggest rival in the rap scene was #KaoDenero. LAJ even invited Kao Denero onto the "Money Na Bank" remix. Kao later said the original song wasn't getting much attention, so the remix gave it new life. So how did the beef begin? It started at the 2010 #SLMtv Awards in #Maryland. LAJ had a huge night, winning Best Single and Best Music Video. But he missed out on the biggest prize of all: The “Best Male Hip Hop Artist. That award went to Kao Denero, beating out a stacked field that included LAJ, Shadow Boxxer, and PM the Player. LAJ's fans were furious; they believed Kao didn't deserve the win. The tension finally exploded in 2014 at the National Stadium during the Independence Day celebration. With international superstar Akon live on stage, Kao Denero and LAJ got into a physical confrontation—literally fighting over the microphone right in front of the crowd! After that night, fan rivalries went wild. Clashes broke out across Freetown, properties were damaged, and the violence got so intense that President Ernest Bai Koroma had to personally step in to settle the feud. At the time, Sierra Leone was still healing from the civil war. The internet was just starting to spread, and young people were hungry for a new pop culture to call their own. Despite the drama, this rivalry helped make the music industry more exciting and competitive than ever. But here's the twist: most people don't even realize that this hip hop war didn't start with LAJ and Kaodenero. The real beef began years earlier — between Pupa Banja (Dry Eye Crew) and Kao Denero.
