It’s not always rooted in Christianity and wanting to be straight. While it’s dumb for us to be judging each other in the first place. Lots of gay people reject hookup culture and cruising because it’s emotionally unfulfilling and can be dangerous.. Hyper-sexuality isn’t a trait that should define a whole group of people. Cause obviously some don’t subscribe to that and they shouldn’t be pressured into because “it’s the norm” no hate tho 💪

Hookup culture was a way for us as a community to connect. It became imbeded in our culture because we were literally being beaten and in some states you could be imprisoned or have your life fall apart back in the day. However now its starting to go in a new direction, our existance is more accepted now. So in a sense we can come out of that dark ally of sneeking and hooking up in secret. now if you personally enjoy it do it, and if you dont like it then dont do it. Just do you, but i do ask everyone learn the significance of the hookup culture and how it help us survive. Now we are able to choose to participate or not.

Hookup culture need to decline in the gay community. I’m not going to even say anything advocating for or supporting this. Sex in general should be held at a higher standard and the fact that you are trying to continue to normalize hookups in gay culture is kind of sad. I get hookup culture but it’s not healthy for any of us and it further proves that most of us will indeed die alone. Anyways.
