Peter Rawlings :
Do you think the current market is too volatile to invest your super into the Stockmarket? Considering that the market is over inflated and the geopolitical environment (Trump) it has to correct itself at some point. I’ll jump back in when that occurs but until then I’m happy to accept 4.2% whit it being in cash

I was advised to move it out of growth and balanced into less risky places such as conservative balanced, conservative and cash when I retired. Returns have been less but in a volatile environment where I have no more income it seems sound? 😳

Don’t forget the ‘e’ in retirement. It can be detrimental to perception of professionalism.

I'm taking my super now as an ABPension and have left it all where it was earning hopefully 8% a year on a mill. should get some good returns .

Would 2-3 years worth of expenses in cash and rest in the market give you the best balance, insulating you from even major market downturns?

Great point! A Super fund for a retiree and a fund for someone 10 years away from retirement could very well have the same risk level for investing. 😌

I'm trying to be nice :
high growth for me, giving me around 10 percent over the medium term, will be more once I get it into pension phase as there will be no tax on the earnings 👌

What if you passed away would your family need to pay tax to release it? Bank account wouldn’t charge tax.
