I had the same experience. My girl died at the vet clinic at around 11 in the evening and couldn’t get her until morning. Still haunts me knowing she died alone without me by her side. 💔

My dog died a week ago today…Early saturday morning I went somewhere for an exam, before I left, I told her I was going somewhere and to wait for me, my mom was the one who fed her and gave her meds. I missed the bus and was supposed to stay there for the night, but somehow I felt the strong urge to go home. Midnight, I went to her and told her I was back, she was weak already but she lifted her head to look and almost seemingly smiled at me. I told her good night and that I’ll feed her breakfast in the morning. When, her eyes were open but no longer had the light it used to have. It still haunts me if she died thinking I went away again.

my dog was very sick but he kept getting up everyday. we had no money to take him to the vet. the last day before he passed, i sat with him for hours, and told him that he doesn't need to guard me anymore. it's okay if he can't hold on anymore as I pet his head and I can see him trying to wag his tail through the pain. the next morning, he passed away. one of the saddest goodbyes to a family member that i've ever had. I still miss you to this day, Thunder my baby!♥️

ako na nag last hug sa kanya then I wonder why he keep staring at me nung papasok naku sa kwarto then early in the morning hndi na namin sya makita. at yun patay na pala sa likod lng ng bahay namin🥲 , its really hard to accept na kung Sana Alam ko LNG na mawawala na sya kinabukasan hndi ko sya iniwan sa labas 🥺 at pinatagal ko pa Sana yung pag hug ko sa kanya🥺🥺

This is why I can’t move abroad and leave my dogs. They only have about 15–20 years to live, and I want to be there for all of it. The thought of them passing away while I’m not there would haunt me forever, and I don’t think I could live with that :(
