@rebecca.sharkey: Don’t hate me. More de-influencing you from all the items you think you need but are a huge waste of money - from a former bride who's getting married again and not making the same mistakes twice! #2026weddingtrends #brides #2027bride #deinfluencing #wedding
Disagree with the video, it melts my heart watching my parents video. Would love my kids to watch my wedding in the future x

why are we trying to erase beautiful paper invitations. Online feels so impersonal

Wedding photographer and venue owner here- what I hear couples say they regret the most is NOT hiring a videographer. Video is absolutely worth it you’ll watch it for years to come.

Do you actually want a wedding or just a generic party?

Highkey disagree with most of this lol. Yes my bridesmaids will match because it’s my day and I want a cohesive look, yes I want high quality video of the day because photo memories only go so far and who cares what font people use? Jfc do you really think wedding guests look at signage and say “they used canva, we gotta go” 🤣

I hope everyone has the wedding they desire. I'm just going to drop some info here- $30K-$36K that's the average amount spent on a wedding in the US. Imagine instead of spending that all on one day- having a small ceremony with family and an amazing honeymoon plus enough for a down payment on a home.

“You don’t need a long dinner at a wedding” - said no one ever in the millennia long history of weddings in southern Europe. 🤣🤣

“If we don’t need a paper card for Paris Fashion Week then you don’t need one for your barn wedding” that stung but it’s so valid 🫠

nothing worse than going to a wedding without enough food. canapes are not enough to keep people fed appropriately.

An e-wedding invite?! Oh helll no. lol It doesn’t need to be crazy fancy but a formal PHYSICAL invitation is classy and timeless. Definitely keep that. And absolutely get a videographer. My only wedding regret is not having a video of the best day of my life. The day is truly a blur and you’ll wish you had something to play it back on.

I’m actually that friend that keeps the invite, the name badge, the favours and all for keepsakes in my memory box.

Also massive disagree about wedding video. My sister past away recently and we all watched the wedding video and seeing us all together young, vibrant and happy was beautiful and I cherish having that

I was bullied into having our wedding videoed 35 years ago and I'm so glad we have it now. It's a time capsule and so many people in it have passed away. It's definitely been watched a few times over the years

I agree with all except the videographer one! I feel like a video just brings out deeper emotions than just pictures so I really want that video and I know I'll keep playing it for years as I am doing now with way less significant events 🙈 However my videographer is doing 10-15mins videos not movies...

Disagree about invites, if you DIY majority of it, it’s so much fun and gets you excited for the big day!

my mother and father had their entire wedding recorded and had it put on dvd, they watch it together every anniversary and sometimes dance their first dance together again whenever that part plays, this is their 18th year together and they invite their kids to come watch the recording as well if they wish to

I feel like only doing a wedding website and not paper invites makes it way harder for any grandparents or other elderly people to rsvp, or least that would’ve been the case for us lol. We pre stamped and addressed everyone’s rsvps so they literally just had to mark yes or no and stick it in the mailbox lol

I got quoted 5k minimum for one video, I am going to get someone to use a camcorder just for the ceremony, after that I am going to get everyone to record the first dance and cake cutting on their phones. The ceremony is all I care about being recorded.
