@rmntamina: Most people told me l’m making a mistake, but here’s the truth: I did not want burnout to be normalised as “part of the job” and be told to get on with it. I wanted a life that didn’t just exist during off duty and annual leave that flew by. I didn’t feel like the system gave me enough time and resources to provide the best quality care for my patients (the NHS is broken). I cared more about my health, family, and time more than career progression. Leaving the healthcare was not giving up. It was deciding to use my skills differently.
