as a resident of Minnesota I can tell you with complete certainty that this is 100% accurate. and it's even more fun when you have two people that are in front of you and neither one of them speak the same language and neither one of them speak English.

i believe everyone in America should learn English as that is the primary language in our country. sure feel free to speak ur native language whenever but in a professional setting u need to know English so u can interact with customers/colleagues with no communication issues. imagine learning English & going to America from another country, u go into a store & are bouncing from worker to worker for help bc there are so many that don't speak the primary language of America. this sort of issue can easily be bypassed.
