@rusticvixen: Wood stove vs pellet stove. Pellets are great but for our manufactured home and mountain winters, wood just makes more sense. Reliable heat, no power needed, and fuel we can source ourselves. Power outage in a winter storm we will have heat but a cooking source. We can warm water and cook food on cast iron on top of our wood burning stove. #manufacturedhome #woodburningstove #winterstorm #fireplace #doublewide
I have a pellet stove and I can’t wait to get back to wood stove

I grew up in a home with only a wood stove. 🔥 We did have a small propane, but couldn't afford to use it. No AC, Water from a well. Septic tank outside.
🤔
It wore me down. Caring for the fire all day & night. Wood chopping, management. When I moved away, I swore I'd never do it again, and not once, not ever....have I used a Fireplace, or Wood stove in over 40 years.
.
just my choice, but the little box on the wall that says "76"....does it's job.

We have a wood stove and absolutely LOVE it! It’s the only way we heat our house in the winter here in East Texas.

My house has wood stove and electric stove (idk what to call it, not a one pellet though). Wood stove is downstairs and gets used daily. Electric is in our bedroom because my husband is building a dresser around it.

I was always told insurance wont cover a manufactured home with a wood stove installed due to fire hazards...probably a money thing tho
