When I moved to a different part of the country I needed a new TV. I had no idea if bargaining was acceptable so I asked a friend what was the way to approach asking for a discount without offending them if bargaining was not the norm. He suggested I ask "What's the best price you can give me on this?" To my surprise it opened up the discussion without embarrassing me or offending them and I got my discount. That question made it easy for them to say "That is the best price. "

As the seller my initial reply to all requests for discount is No. Many will drop the request others will keep asking then we can talk
