Its a thing I weirdly like about Tims character bc its realistic with what we know about his upbringing and such, hes a 45 year old white guy who grew up with a toxic father, we dont know much about his mom yet but im assuming that bond wasnt sunshine and rainbows either, and he joined the army probably around 18 and then immediately joined the police force afterwards, so him not being as "educated" or not easily spotting things like casual racism (him near the start of S3 kind of dismissing Jacksons worries about Dougs racism at first, getting defensive when Lucy mentioned his behaviour in the pilot when he tested her) or things like casual misogyny (this scene) is a really good character trait to give him in terms of character writing bc we can see him learn and improve from what was likely habit for him in real time its so fun,,, sorry for the yap fest i love psychoanalyzing characters, their flaws and how they navigate the world,,
