I find it easier to flip my head over, then put the clip at the back of my head, flip it back and then close the clip 😊

Alternative option: make your pony into the messy hand held pony and then use your other hand to clip it in that position… I find that easier than the slide up personally, but for sure a banana clip stab either way!

You can also put a small ponytail with a teeny elastic with the front top part of your hair, and use it as an anchor to keep the clip from sliding out.
