I think that seeing the videos of things like this and Palestine, for example, have motivated me to speak up. BUUUUUUUT!!! I have learned that I need to be in the right headspace to view it and know that it’s ok if I can’t handle viewing it. I’ve seen enough now that hearing about it from others is all the proof I need.

I understand and in theory agree with your point, but we are still in the very early stages of this happening, meaning that the truth of the footage vs the inevitable spin of blatant lies they they try to spin around it is very precarious. Speaking as someone living in Minneapolis right now, footage of everything here is getting suppressed like crazy. The morning Renee Good was shot there was a period of time within those first hours where the videos were getting scrubbed fast, and they were calling her a terrorist before her body was barely cold and no investigation done. it was only because it actually managed to get enough traction that enough of the truth came out. I’m so sorry, I hear you, but living in the middle of this we desperately need eyes on this and what more they are about to do to us in response to it.

Thank you for giving me permission for this. I wasn’t looking for permission, but I’ve felt like shit avoiding these videos. I am more than willing to let the videos loop on my device, with the volume muted and without me actually watching the content for the algorithm to continue to push it (if it will actually push that content). But my partner and his parents are formerly undocumented, ICE has haunted my dreams for 16+ years, I don’t need more nightmare fuel.
