@sortofceramics: This dip-dry-brush glazing method is my favourite and actually makes me enjoy glazing 🫣 This method lowers my commercial glaze costs and provides my favourite results. I’m fortunate to have access to a bunch of lovely dipping glazes at my studio, so this workflow just works really well for me. I know some of you home potters won’t have access to dipping glazes, so I apologize in advance 🥲 NOTES: Use a single glaze on the inside if you want to ensure food-safety. These dip/brush combos should NOT be considered food-safe as they have not been tested in a lab. I’ve learned there is extra risk with this method. The gum additives in dipping glazes can react negatively with brush on glazes. I have tested this method with 6 dipping glazes and 7 brush on glazes and have had nice results every time. Still, please proceed with caution. You need to let the dipping glaze dry for 12+ hours AND clean up any drips or tong marks before brushing on for best results. #glazetutorial #pottery #potterytutorial #ceramics #glazingpottery

How would this look if you used a regular dipping glaze but just brush it on? Same issue since my studio only has dipping glazes and also underglaze

Did some glazing for my ceramics 1 class and I’m hoping and praying it comes out okay! I won’t lie, glazing was the hardest for me to learn because I don’t know how it’s supposed to turn out. But I love your results!💗

Can you tell us what studio this is? I’d love to dip glaze some pieces I have, but don’t know where in Toronto offers dip glazing!

I’m trying to wrap my head around slightly translucent slightly runny glaze. Is it always the same base glaze or are they different colors as well? Sorry I’m self taught with a home studio I use to free ball glazes and just see what I liked but now I’m getting into better glazing techniques I can repeat. 😂
