It's unfortunate they stopped doing this because it made people too uncomfortable. BUT THATS THE POINT. You're not supposed to like it, it's supposed to make you be more considerate of your safety and others by instilling fear. PSAs like these always get me and they worked wonders on me to help me stay aware

In Australia, we’ve been shown really traumatic ads on work safe, seat belt and drinking then driving. Gotta say it works. Especially the seat belt ads.
