I thought it was about him, but then his name was never mentioned and his wife was called Agnes instead of Anne (which are apparently also interchangeable) so I spend half the film doubting myself again

I get if you don’t read or watch Shakespeare but surely a play write in Stratford rang a bell? Or “It is the east and Juliet is the sun” & “To be or not to be” must have meant something? They are in so many other TV shows and films as classic Shakespeare lines.
