Talbots is way under used for plus size. They skew to an older demographic, but their fit and quality is excellent and they run frequent sales. Great for work clothes, suits, classics like sweaters, slacks, etc. If you want something you can wear for 10 years, that’s it.

what is basic to each person is so varied though—I would guess you and I are similar size (I’m a pretty true 2X most places) but most of those cuts are not for my body shape. I need a low neckline. Not a LOW neckline, but scoops and v-necks for sure. I also prefer a boot cut for my shape. You are right that Good American jeans are the best. I do have to get mine altered because the lengths are too long (which is wild since I’m 5’7”, but good news for the tall ladies. I need them taken up about 3”)
