You're not doing anything at all, because in the end, if you move the scissors a little, you'll follow the wrong line. The laser should be separate from the scissors to prevent this from happening.

the later needs to be seperate to the scissors because if its connected the lazer moves every time you move the scissors. there's no guarantee that you're actually cutting a straight line, you'd get the same result from just following the weave of the fabric or the grain of the paper
