@intropsy1: "Inside Out",this film is actually much deeper than just a children's animation. It portrays the human world in a gentle yet honest way, showing how every emotion within us plays a role. No matter what happens, it plays an important part in shaping who we truly are. This story focuses on Riley, a child who is guided by five main emotions like Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. All this time, Joy has served as the “leader” in the control center of her emotions. She wants to make sure Riley is always happy, cheerful, and open-minded. However, this is where the interesting story begins. Joy believes that her job is to keep Riley happy. It regards sadness, fear, or anger as disturbances that will only make things harder for Riley. So Joy tries to control all the sad emotions, divert the feelings, and ignore the fragile moments. Joy wants to create a Riley who is strong, cheerful, and always positive. But it turned out that this effort caused Riley to lose her balance. When Joy and Sadness were thrown out of control, Riley was no longer able to understand her own feelings. She became sad, disconnected from herself, as if her life had no direction. And this is where Joy finally learned that happiness without sadness is not eternal happiness.Sadness does not make us weak because Joy finally realizes that Sadness is not the enemy. Sadness has a very human function. It helps a person recognize loss, ask for help, and rebuild. In psychological theory, this is referred to as ‘emotional integration’. It is the process of accepting conflicting emotions so that we can feel strong. Without sadness, we would never truly know what happiness feels like. Without fear, we would never learn to be cautious. In conclusion, the biggest lesson from ‘Joy’ is that being positive is not the same as being emotionally healthy. Suppressing emotions does not mean overcoming problems. Sometimes, we need to stop being strong and start daring to feel whatever comes up. Emotional health is not about eliminating the bad, but about making space for everything that lives within fear, anxiety, shame, envy, and anger to speak without judgment. Humans are not one color, but a harmony of many colors that complement each other. Joy finally understood that her job was not to keep Riley happy all the time, but to help Riley become a human being with all the emotions that make her alive. -Syafiza Nisha- #fyp #insideout #psychology
