I used to put up with years of abuse, trying to be understanding and taking the blame for their toxic behavior. Recently, I was dating someone who lashed out at me out of nowhere and attacked my character. They showed who they really were. The response I gave was no response at all. I don’t have to defend myself because I know who I am in Christ now. Having your identity being solidified in Christ helps you not have to defend yourself over lies. I’m no one’s savior anymore. That’s Jesus’ job.

This is my problem and then because I'm too understanding, I shrink myself down. It's an effort not to dismiss the lies this person put online about me, she's deleted it since, but I remember and it hurt.
