The Field Marshall, a post-WWI British tractor, used a blank 12-gauge cartridge to ignite its massive single-cylinder diesel engine. One pull of the trigger and the machine roared to life with a thunderous blast. It's one of the wildest pieces of old-school engineering, when farming and firepower shared the same spark.
