I know it’s just fiction- but it actually hurts so bad. They aren’t a ship that I can easily move on from- it’s not a ship where I or anyone else just picked up little hints from- it’s a ship where I actually grieve them- partly because they didn’t end up together but just the fact that they couldn’t be happy in the end- you could say will was but him being at a bar ( a place for drinking which his dad did ) ( and smoking which his mom did ) and basically the duffer brothers making it the most generic gay stereotype an only showing this “ boyfriend “ once- and also then having no lines- isn’t a happy ending- they made Mike wills Tammy- but robin didn’t paint a picture for Tammy- robin wasn’t I love with Tammy for 10 years- will asking robin about how she knew that Vickie wanted to- robin said make out and will said to DATE- it wasn’t a silly crush like they played it off to be and that fully pisses me off, and Mike ended up being alone an not needed- he ended up writing stories and looking like his dad- we NEVER got to see how Mike truly felt- they tore mikes character apart and made it always about el- you can clearly see how he felt about will yet he had to stay In the closet. The duffer brothers originally made a show about outcasts for outcasts but once the show blew up in the way it did they took that away and made the ending something that the general public would be okay with. The left an open ending while leaving clues that their might be a secret episode because they wanted money and attention- they also left it open so that if they wanted to in the future they could re open the series and make even more money off of it. They didn’t care about the fans they cared about the money. I loved stranger things. I think it was great but I think even if you take away the byler aspect- they didn’t have a good ending for Mike and wills friendship. Or a good ending to such a big series. If they did leave it open so they could come back to it, great but that isn’t thinking about the people that were actually effected by the ending- having will have an epilogue boyfriend and mike never being able to come out just imagine how people in similar circumstances must feel.
