Two years ago my husband and I swapped busy London life for the Cotswolds and it was the best decision we ever made. But, instead of making life easier for ourselves, we fell in love with a period project that needed a lot of work. Last April we moved out and the builders moved in, demolishing vast sections of the house and rebuilding huge elements. We’ve had all new roofs, all new windows, new floors and ceilings, extensions and reconfigurations, you name it, we’ve probably done it. It’s been the project of a lifetime and it’s nearly over. We are decorating and DIY’ing to try and get the house ready to move back into. We’ve come so far, but we’ve got so much to do.
