I have seen my mother die over time of cancer in an hospital, and then my father chose MAID and died at home. I can vouch that MAID was very peaceful and not scary to witness - it also took off so much pressure to know when and how it would happen rather than waiting while someone suffers. I have nothing but respect for people who choose this path given the cards they’re dealt.

I honestly don't see why people have a fear of death 🤷🏻♀️maybe because I've had so MANY spiritual experiences that I KNOW death is not the end.

I have attended one a few years ago. My friend got to choose a playlist, a guest list and went out without clothes but wrapped in a big fluffy blanket. She got to choose a very comfortable and very dignified death. I miss her of course but feel at peace because she didn’t suffer. ♥️

I get what you are saying. I was very very sick for a long time in the hospital. It was during Covid, so I couldn’t see my loved ones. I felt so bad that they were worried and that I was causing financial strain on my family. Now I am scared of going septic again and all of the pain and nausea with it. MAID gives me comfort in knowing that I can have control.

Yes maid was not a thing when my dad got cancer and he suffered so long it was so sad I felt so horrible for him. :(. He kept saying to the dr give me more drugs to take my life I can’t do this the dr said I’m sorry I can’t to that. I felt so bad for my dad. :(. I feel for you though big time.

I hear you. I’ve been with over 30 palliative patients who chose maid. Honor yourself. The fear is not of dying, the fear is the bumpy road before dying. Whatever you need, honor that. I support you.
