@truecrime.storiess: Jennifer Fairgate arrived in Oslo under a name that would never be confirmed and with a past that seemed to end at the hotel reception desk. On May 31, 1995, she checked into the Oslo Plaza Hotel, giving a Belgian address that did not exist and offering no identification. She paid in cash and was assigned Room 2805, a quiet space high above the city. Staff later recalled that she kept to herself and left little impression. Days passed with no contact from her. When Fairgate failed to pay her bill and did not answer repeated calls, a hotel security officer was sent to the room on June 3. As he knocked on the door, a single gunshot echoed from inside. He went back downstairs to the security headquarters, leaving a 15 minute window where the room was unguarded. It took police 50 minutes to arrive on scene after they were called. Inside the locked room, officers found Fairgate lying on the bed, d*ad from a g*nshot wound to the head. A 9 mm pistol rested in her hand, its serial number carefully removed. There were no signs of forced entry, no struggle, and no indication that anyone else had been present. The room itself offered little explanation. Fairgate had no passport, no wallet, no personal papers of any kind. Labels had been cut from nearly all of her clothing, and her belongings were sparse. A briefcase containing extra ammunition was found, an unsettling detail that only deepened the uncertainty surrounding her stay. Police would later conclude the death was a s*icide, citing the locked door and lack of evidence pointing to foul play. Yet the precision of the erased serial number and the deliberate absence of identifying items left lingering doubts, even among those closest to the investigation. Nearly thirty years later, no one knows who Jennifer Fairgate really was or why she came to Oslo. No family has claimed her, no history has surfaced, and no motive has been confirmed. What remains is a sealed hotel room, a borrowed name, and a mystery that refuses to fade. #truecrime #truecrimetok #horror #mystery #murder
