I’m sorry Africa as a continent is not it. Cape Town the city is it. And the reason why it is, is because foreigners are moving there. Kind of like New York and how there’s a bunch of foreigners in New York. If there were no foreigners in Cape Town living there. It was just the local people no one would want to move there.

I have a theory. The DA is paying European and American influencers to promote Cape Town. They are also driving massive, high budget promotional campaigns to entice them to Cape Town, hence the push for a digital nomad visa.

Let’s also be honest, one of the reasons foreigners are noticing South Africa more is because of all the major international films and series being shot here. When global productions use our landscapes and cities, it puts us on the world stage. Exposure brings attention and attention brings movement.

yall be salty at the wrong people. yall salty at the foreigners but it’s really not ULTIMATELY on them on why things are not affordable. It’s the system. This is a world wide thing. If you look at the bigger picture no one can truly afford anything. Every country complains about stuff not being affordable. A large amount of Americans can’t afford America. Same for Europeans, etc. even if yall didn’t have a lot of foreigners coming in, yall still would have the same issue of not being able to afford things. You know why? Because of the system. That’s how it goes WORLDWIDE. A good bit of these people are ordinary and just trying to survive like yall. yall attack the wrong people . Attack the people who are in control of the system. the system never looked out for its people in any nation for real anyway.

Growing up in South Africa in the mid 90s to the late 2000s, golden era of South Africa, what a country, I had so much fun traveling around the country. Europeans and Americans didn’t know much about us then, and it should’ve stayed that way.
